I Would Walk 500 miles... you know that song, "I Would Walk 500 miles"? It is from the Benny and Joon movie... anyway, I heard that song again today and it reminded me, what does "haver" mean? A line in the song says "And if I haver, then you know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the one whose havering to you" What the heck is that? I have no idea what haver means. I looked on the Internet, but there is hardly any information there about this, though others have wondered about that word in this song as well. So after a more obsessive search, I found what I believe might be the definition from a UK site: "Haver: from misbe-hav-iour Misbehave, foolish, talk foolishly, babble." I am not 100% sure but I think that might be it. So if you ever wondered what that word in this song meant, there ya go!

  • That makes me think of something I was thinking about earlier... that song by Men at Work- Down Under:

"I come from a land down under, where women (something i can't make out) and men chunder. Can ya hear can ya hear the thunder..."

And I had no freakin' idea what they hell they meant for that until I read something about Elton John the other day. He apparently had a stomach bug while in Australia and had to leave the stage to go barf. Well, apparently, an Australian slang term for vomit is "chunder." As in (paraphrasing Sir Elton) "It figured it would be better to chunder in the toilet than all over the front row."

Ya learn something new every day!

  • Here is a trivia test for you.. this is a song you have probably heard a hundred times... from the actual lyrics below, can you guess what it is? [I left out the refrain because that would give it away too easily]:

A fine little girl she waits for me
Me catch a ship for cross the sea.
Me sail that ship all alone
Me never think how I make it home.

    refrain

Three nights and days I sail the sea
    Think of girl, oh, constantly.
Ah, on that ship I dream she there
I smell the rose, ah, in her hair.

    refrain

Me see Jamaica, ah, moon above.
It won't be long, me see me love.
Take her in my arms again,
I got her; I'll never leave again.
